The extension

Runs where the page runs.

Detection happens in your browser, after JavaScript has loaded, so it sees what a crawler can't. Free, open source and private by design.

Questions

Where does the detection data come from?

From 7,628 open fingerprints maintained by the enthec/webappanalyzer community (GPL-3.0), plus our own signatures for newer tools. The extension is open source under the same license.

Does the extension send my browsing anywhere?

No. The free extension runs entirely in your browser and sends nothing to any server. Pro only sends the domain you choose to analyze, when you open the Pro view.

What does a lookup on this site store?

The domain and its detected stack, cached for 24 hours so repeat lookups are instant. No account, no cookies, no trackers.

How does the Pro trial work?

7 days free, then $4.99 per month. A card is required to start, and you can cancel any time before the trial ends.

Why does the extension sometimes find more than the website lookup?

The extension sees the page after JavaScript has run, including globals and the rendered DOM. A server-side lookup only sees the raw HTML and headers.
